You can build the most elegant data warehouse, write the cleanest dbt models, and deploy the most beautiful Power BI dashboards — and none of it matters if nobody uses them. BI initiatives fail more often from organizational problems (no buy-in, no governance, wrong tool for the culture) than from technical problems.

Building a BI strategy means answering three questions: What tools should we use? How do we keep our data trustworthy? And how do we get people to actually look at dashboards instead of their spreadsheets?

The BI Maturity Model

Organizations don't go from zero to advanced BI overnight. Understanding where you are helps you plan realistic next steps.
